121 completed Vasaloppstrippeln 2017

136 people made the attempt and 133 who had completed both skiing and cycling came to the Ultravasan 90 start this past Saturday. 12 had to break off but 121 participants got all the way to the finish line and have thereby managed to complete Vasaloppstrippeln 2017. A big congratulations to you!

Interest in Vasaloppstrippeln, completing three Vasaloppet during one and the same year, has increased at an explosive rate. From 32 people last year to 121 this year, 26 women and 95 men, all completing the skiing, cycling and finally the maybe toughest challenge, Ultravasan 90 2017.

The fastest woman was Elin Sällström from Sundbyberg with a combined time of 19.04.42 and the fastest man was Erik Nilsson from Garphyttan, Örebro with a time of 17.04.11. Both these times also set new records for Vasaloppstrippeln.

Complete results from the years Vasaloppstrippeln has been possible can be found here

To complete a Vasaloppstrippeln you need to ski, bike and run 90 kilometres in forefathers’ tracks during one and the same calendar year. On skis that means Vasaloppet or Öppet Spår; on bike it’s Cykelvasan 90 or Cykelvasan Öppet Spår; and to finish it off you walk, jog or run Ultravasan 90.

2014, when Ultravasan 90 ran for the first time, was the first year one could complete Vasaloppstrippeln. That year, 14 people managed the achievement. In 2015 that exclusive group counted 18 in number and in 2016, 32 people managed the feat. But interest has grown and in 2017 there were more than four times as many, with 136 registered, of which 121 reached all the way to the Mora finish on Saturday, August 19.

Footnote: Nattvasan is not part of Vasaloppstrippeln since it has two-person teams and helping one another is allowed.
