Registration for Blåbärsloppet 2018 is now open

Want to try skiing a Vasaloppet Winter Week race but not as far as the other races? Then you should register for Blåbärsloppet, held on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Blåbärsloppet is 9 kilometres long, starting in Eldris and finishing in Mora. Anyone can participate. Registering is completely free and there are free buses to the start. And everyone who finishes gets a medal!

Maybe you’ve never tried cross-country skiing before? Or skied very little? This race is about daring to try, more than competition; it’s a chance to experience a Swedish tradition and to cross the classic Vasaloppet finish line.

Participants in Blåbärsloppet do not need to be members of a Swedish ski club. (If you are a member of a club that you wish to represent then that ski club must be part of the Swedish Ski Association.) Blåbärsloppet is hosted by Folksam.

Bus to the start
All participants take a free bus to the start; no car traffic to Eldris is allowed. Buses leave from the Trade Fair area 12:30–13:45. Make sure to attach your skis together when putting them on the bus, preferably using a ski cover. Friends and family who wish to accompany you to the start may use the buses there and back.

You start by the Eldris checkpoint at any time you wish between 13:00 and 14:00. There is no timekeeping in this race. Grip wax assistance is available at the start in Eldris.

Blueberry soup and water is served at the start in Eldris, in Hemus after about 6 km we serve blueberry soup and water, and after finishing there is blueberry soup, juice and water.

Collect your number bib
All our participants wear a number bib. They can be collected from Thursday March 1 by the competition office in the Vasaloppet Trade Fair in Mora.

What to do with extra clothes
At the ski depository you can leave a backpack/bag you wish to have after finishing. Hand these in before taking the bus to Eldris. In Eldris you’re given a sack for your coveralls; you write your start number on the sack and it is then transported back to the finish line, where it will be available in the same place as your backpack/bag.
