Rules

Classic technique. Swedish Ski Association rules for exercise races apply. Participants in Öppet Spår 9 km do not need to be members of a Swedish ski club. If you are a ski club member and want to represent your club, the club must be registered with the Swedish Ski Association.

Pole rules

The length of your ski pole is an individual choice, but there is a rule limiting the maximum length to 83 percent of your height, while wearing ski boots. Measure according to image.

You can measure your ski poles outside the Trade Fair in Mora and by the number bib tents at the starts in Sälen and Oxberg.

Time penalty for littering in the Vasaloppet Arena

It is allowed to throw garbage in three different ways during Vasaloppet’s Winter Week, you will be caught by throwing debris otherwise you may be penalized with a time penalty of 15 minutes. You must throw litter:

  • In the bins at the Vasaloppet checkpoints.
  • In the marked littering zones between each Vasaloppet checkpoint.
  • Where you as a participant know that a team leader or associate will pick up what you throw.

A competitor will automatically be disqualified if he/she participates in the competition under false pretences such as starting under false name/with false timing chip or practice any unsportsmanlike behaviour. The Race Director and/or Race Secretary have authority to disqualify, penalize or ban from participation if evidence of rule infraction is submitted after the race is completed and after the Jury has finished their work.

Bus to the start in Eldris

All participants ride a free bus to the start; no car traffic to Eldris is allowed. Busses start departing from the Trade Fair area between 12.30-13.45.  Make sure you attach your skis together when you put them on the bus and, if possible, use a ski bag. If relatives or friends of a participant want to be at the start, they may ride the bus back and forth.

Grip wax

Assistance with grip wax is available at the start in Eldris.

Medical care

Available at the start and along the track.

Lost and found

During competition days, lost and found items can be left/retrieved in the reception of Vasaloppet’s House. The organizers are not responsible for any loss of belongings.
