CykelVasan 90 km is now full, but places still left in both the 30 & 45 km races

CykelVasan has very quickly become Sweden’s biggest mountainbike race. Entries for the 90 km race have now reached the ceiling of 6,000 registered participants and no further entries can be accepted.  But for those who want to bike the shorter 30 or 45 km distances, there are still places available.

CykelVasan 2011 is run on Saturday 13 August and has a competition class and a recreational class over 90 km, with start in Sälen and finish at the classic Vasaloppet finish in Mora. Alternatively one can bike 30 km or 45 km recreational class with start in Oxberg and finish in Mora.  In these two shorter races there is, for the time being, no registration ceiling set; here our hope is that even more will discover the charm and thrill of cycling in Vasalopps Arena. 

Just as winter’s Vasaloppet, CykelVasan goes through all the famous control checkpoints, and is well suited to both elite and recreational cyclists. The CykelVasan course is a mixture of gravel, asphalt and forest roads.  

Lindvallen in Sälen is the centre for all CykelVasan’s many surrounding activities. SkiStar Sälen offers participants an attractive accommodation package Thursday to Sunday for 395 SEK. More info here

Vasaloppets Summer Week
It is very clear that Vasalopps Arena has a fantastic attraction for health and fitness enthusiasts in summer as well as winter. The 2011 summer week has CykelVasan 13 August, VasaStafetten (relay running race for teams of ten) 20 August and StavgångsVasan (for Nordic walkers) 21 August.
