Now 60,000 registered entries for Vasaloppet’s 2012 winter week

The 24th January 2012 is the date when the 60,000th registered participant to Vasaloppet’s 2012 winter week could be counted. The old registration record (59,130 from last year) is thereby broken, and another fantastic boundary has been passed.  

Three of the races, TjejVasan, KortVasan and StafettVasan have also noted record registrations.

Vasaloppet’s winter week’s nine races over ten days attracted 59,130 entries in 2011, 57,560 in 2010 and 48,184 in 2009.

1,000,000 Finishes
In 1922 there were 117 gallant men who reached the finish in the first Vasaloppet. Over the years a collective total of 972,746 finishes have been recorded in that which is now called Vasaloppet’s winter week. This means that the millionth finish will happen during the 2012 winter week.
