New race – Trailvasan 10 premieres in August 2021

An evening race, starting and finishing in Mora, open to all who'd like to try running in forefathers' tracks. With lots of paths, technical terrain and hills at sunset. That's the concept of Trailvasan 10, Vasaloppet's newest race.
"With Trailvasan 10 we're giving even more people the chance to cross the finish line in Mora," says Tommy Höglund, Vasaloppet's Sport Manager.

Vasaloppet’s Summer Week continues to develop. This year, due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, it took the shape of Hemmavasan and the new running distance, Hemmavasan Trail 10, was met with much enthusiasm. It was so popular that a 10 km running race will now become one of the standard races in Vasaloppet’s Summer Week 2021.

The premiere of Trailvasan 10 has been set to Friday, August 20, 2021; the evening before Ultravasan 90, Ultravasan 45, Trailvasan 30, Vasakvartetten and Vasastafetten.
”For friends and family members who aren’t running on Saturday, Trailvasan 10 could be the perfect challenge. At the same time we think the distance and running festivities in Mora will attract many participants from the surrounding area,” says Tommy Höglund.

Trailvasan 10 is an exercise race where each participant races against themself; no winner is named but times and results will register as usual at vasaloppet.se and all participants wear a number bib. Everyone 11 years old and up is welcome to participate and medals and diplomas are distributed after finishing. Both start and finish is by the Vasaloppet finish line in Mora and the course partially follows the Vasaloppet track but also runs across other historic Vasaloppet land.
”It’s classic trail running terrain and you can, of course, run as fast as you can but walking and jogging would also work. You have three hours to complete the race so there’s plenty of time. Welcome to forefathers’ tracks,” says Tommy Höglund.
