Hemmavasan is an exercise race for cycling and running and its distances are brought over from the regular Vasaloppet summer races. You can also choose the 10 km distance. During the period of August 15–22, 2020, you could participate in Hemmavasan wherever you were.
Hemmavasan Ultra 90 – walk, jog, run 90 km
Hemmavasan Ultra 45 – walk, jog, run 45 km
Hemmavasan Trail 30 – walk, jog, run 30 km
Hemmavasan Trail 10 – walk, jog, run 10 km
The registration fee in Hemmavasan is 275 kr. For youths up to the age of 16 the race is free.
Choose between four distances: 90, 45, 30 and 10 kilometres. The distances are the same as the standard running races in the Vasaloppet Arena with the additional option of 10 km.
You can complete your race no matter where in the world you may be; on your favourite paths in the forests, the streets in town, along small beachside roads or on the local exercise trail.
Saturday, August 15, 2020, was the big Hemmavasan day. The start is at 08.45 with a live broadcast from a studio by the Vasaloppet finish in Mora. You could participate in your race whenever you wanted during the period of August 15–22, 2020.
There are no cut-off time or maximum finishing times in the race. You should be able to complete the race in one go without any significant interruptions.
Hemmavasan Ultra 90 – You may participate in the race from the year you turn 19 år.
Hemmavasan Ultra 45 – You may participate in the race from the year you turn 17 år.
Hemmavasan Trail 30 – You may participate in the race from the year you turn 17 år.
Hemmavasan Trail 10 – You may participate in the race from the year you turn 11 år.
Time registration and app
To participate in Hemmavasan you must be able to register your race. During the race you will therefore be using the app Hemmavasan. If you cannot use the app, registering your race manually will also be possible.
Registration for Hemmavasan is made on My pages. On the page Registration you can read about conditons of registration and insurances. On Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 15.00 it will no longer be possible to register online on My pages.
Tips for the race
Prepare well for your race, to make it as good as possible.
- Follow the Public Health Agency of Sweden’s recommendations.
- Look over your equipment in good time before the race.
- Choose your track with care and avoid roads with heavy traffic.

The start for Hemmavasan was at 08.45 on Saturday, August 15, 2020. Vasaloppet was active all day with a broadcast in Vasaloppet.TV from a studio at the Vasaloppet finish line. In the broadcast you could follow participants around the country and world, get live reports and preparation tips from our Kranskulla and Kransmas and other guests and experts in the studio. Several elite skiers and celebrities was also broadcasting their races live, among them Jenny and Susanna Kallur who are aiming for Vasaloppstrippeln 45 and participating in Hemmavasan Cykel 45 and Hemmavasan Ultra 45.
The broadcast Hemmavasan Live is free and can be seen afterwards on Vasaloppet.TV. During the period of August 15–22, 2020, you could also follow participants directly via the app Hemmavasan.
After completing the race you can download a digital diploma on the results page.
You who participate in Hemmavasan get a personal celebration film created by Volvo. A link to the film is delivered to your registered email address and mobile number directly after finishing. Your amazing efforts are being celebrated and become a memory you can easily share.
To complete Vasaloppstrippeln you need to ski, bike and run 90, 45 or 30 kilometres in forefathers’ tracks, all in the same year.
In 2020 the terms of Vasaloppstrippeln will be somewhat adjusted since the Vasaloppet Summer Week 2020 won’t be held on location in the Vasaloppet Arena.
Those registered for Vasaloppstrippeln 2020 – and who have completed their skiing section 2020 – had the option of completing Vasaloppstrippeln with cycling and running in Hemmavasan 2020. You can also choose to count your 2020 ski race as part of Vasaloppstrippeln 2021.
