This August, participants in Cykelvasan Öppet Spår and Cykelvasan 90 will follow the same route past the Risberg checkpoint as runners and skiers. “This means that, starting this year, Cykelvasan Öppet Spår and Cykelvasan 90 will be 95 km instead of 96 km,” says Anders “Hobbe” Holmberg, who is responsible for tracks and trails in the Vasaloppet Arena.

After the 2025 cross-country ski season, discussions have arisen regarding unauthorised skating. Here, Vasaloppet’s Sport Lead, Tommy Höglund, talks about plans going forward to clarify the rules and educate participants who want to double-pole their way through Vasaloppet. The goal is to create a better understanding of the regulations and to ensure fair competition conditions. Tommy also explains the race jury that decides on possible disqualification in Vasaloppet.
Cycle or run a race this summer! Vasaloppet's Summer Week, taking place August 8–16, 2025, offers five different mountain bike races in Cykelvasan during the first weekend, followed by six running races in the second weekend. In addition, there is Barnens Vasalopp for children aged 3–10 and Hemmavasan for those who prefer to participate from home. Saturday, August 16, 2025 – write it in your planner and mark it in your mental calendar. That’s the day of the big annual running event in the Vasaloppet Arena, when the four races – Ultravasan 90, Ultravasan 45, Trailvasan 30, and Vasastafetten – take place. The excitement starts the day before with Funkisvasan, Barnens Vasalopp Löpning, and Trailvasan 10. So far, over 3,400 runners have signed up, including an impressive 1,300 for Ultravasan 90. Vasastafetten, which is now a recreational relay without competitive elements, currently has 121 registered teams.

Another Winter Week has crossed the finish line. The weather conditions occasionally caused challenges for both participants and organizers, but thanks to hard work and determination from both skiers and functionaries, 44,000 participants managed to pass the iconic finish line in Mora. Sporting history was made in the Vasaloppet Arena today. Eighteen-year-old Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, became the youngest Vasaloppet winner in history after a thrilling sprint finish. World and Olympic champion Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, competed in her first Vasaloppet and dominated the women’s race. A Dalarna man from Bjursås and a Dalarna woman from Malung took home the victories – receiving a winner’s wreath from a Kranskulla from Sälen and a Kransmas from Mora.
