With a week to go until the start, the final preparations are underway in the Vasaloppet Arena, which is now ready to welcome all participants to Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2024. This week, preparations include stocking up on energy supplies at the seven Vasaloppet checkpoints and placing kilometre markers.
The reigning American 100-mile champion, ultrarunner Rajpaul “Lightning Raj” Pannu, has confirmed his participation in Ultravasan 90, which takes place on Saturday, August 17. The interest in the Nordic region's largest ultramarathon is, as usual, very high, and the Swedish elite will surely face a challenge with Rajpaul Pannu's presence. In early 2024, he travelled to space and back. With him, he carried both a medal and a number bib from Vasaloppet. During Vasaloppet's Summer Week on Friday, August 16, these space-travelled items will return to Dalarna when Mora-born astronaut Marcus Wandt personally hands them over to Vasaloppet in Mora.
Funkisvasan will become one of the regular races on the programme for Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2024. A test race for invited participants was conducted during the Summer Week 2023, and following a very positive reception, Funkisvasan is now open to more participants.
On Saturday, August 10, the 16th edition of Cykelvasan 90 will take place. Sveriges Television will broadcast the race live from start to finish, just like the winter Vasaloppet – and this year, Cykelvasan 90, the largest mountain bike race in the Nordics, will also be broadcast in Norway, Denmark, and Finland. National MTB teams from these three countries will be present to compete for victory, honour, and prize money in both the women's and men's classes.

Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2024 will be held in August, featuring ten different races spread over two weekends in the Vasaloppet Arena. The first weekend, August 9–10, will focus on cycling, while the second weekend, August 16–17, will be dedicated to running. There are three different start locations, but all races finish under the Vasaloppet finish line portal at the belfry in Mora. In addition to these races, there will be the Barnens Vasalopp children's race for participants aged 3–10, as well as Hemmavasan for those who wish to participate on their home turf.
