Experience Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2024 together – we have challenges for all ages

With lowered age limits and new races, it's now easier than ever to share the experience in Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2024. Ski with friends, colleagues, mum, grandchildren, or the whole family – perhaps in the glow of headlamps and flaming torches? Or choose different races on the same day and celebrate at the finish line in Mora together. Over 40,000 participants have already registered for Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2024. The 100th Vasaloppet is fully booked, but there are still spots available in 14 other races.

Here’s a brief description of all the races included in Vasaloppet’s Winter Week 2024 – day by day, from February 23 to March 3, 2024. Detailed information is available on the race pages here at vasaloppet.se.

Our age limits are determined based on the year of birth, regardless of whether the birthday falls early or late in the year.

Friday, February 23: Vasaloppet 30, 30 km, start Oxberg
The first race of the Winter Week is a ski fest in classic style, with an age limit of 11 years. Take the bus to the start in Oxberg and enjoy a pleasant 30 kilometres down to the finish line in Mora. Along the way, you’ll pass through the checkpoints in Hökberg and Eldris, where you can replenish your energy with blueberry soup and more.

NEW AGE LIMIT! Saturday, February 24: Tjejvasan, 30 km, start Oxberg
Tjejvasan is the world’s biggest ski race for women, featuring both elite and recreational skiers in the same race. New for this year, the age limit has been lowered to 11 years, which is perfect for those who want to ski with their daughters! And maybe even with grandma? Tjejvasan will be broadcast live on SVT, just as usual.

Sunday, February 25: Öppet Spår Sunday, 90 km, start Sälen
Ski the entire distance from Sälen to Mora and enjoy the experience; you’re only competing against yourself. The race follows the same track and checkpoints as Vasaloppet, using classic ski style, and it serves as a seeding race for Vasaloppet. The age limit is 17 years.

Sunday, February 25: Ungdomsvasan, 9 km start Eldris, 19 km start Hökberg
All youths aged 11–16 are welcome to participate in the competition race Ungdomsvasan. Club membership is not required. Younger participants start in Eldris and cover 9 km, while older ones start in Hökberg and ski 19 km, both using classic style.

Monday, February 26: Öppet Spår Monday 90, 90 km, start Sälen
In Öppet Spår Monday 90, you can choose between classic and skate ski styles. You’ll ski the entire distance from Sälen to Mora, competing only against yourself. This is a seeding race for Vasaloppet start groups 2–10, and the age limit is 17 years.

NEW! Monday, February 26: Öppet Spår Monday 45, 43 km, start Evertsberg checkpoint
In the new Öppet Spår Monday 45 you can choose between classic and skate ski styles. You start at the Evertsberg checkpoint and, on your way to Mora, pass the three checkpoints in Oxberg, Hökberg, and Eldris. The age limit is 13 years.

NEW! Monday, February 26: Öppet Spår Monday 30, 28 km, start Oxberg checkpoint
The new Öppet Spår Monday 30 starts at the Oxberg checkpoint, located 28 km from the finish line. On the way to Mora, you’ll pass the Vasaloppet checkpoints in Hökberg and Eldris. This race allows both skate and classic styles, and the age limit is 11 years.

NEW AGE LIMIT! Tuesday, February 27: Vasaloppet 45, 45 km, start Oxberg
New this year, the age limit of Vasaloppet 45 is lowered to 13 years. In Vasaloppet 45, you start in Oxberg and circle the beautiful Oxberg lake before skiing on towards Mora. It’s a classic style race that serves as a seeding race for Vasaloppet.

Friday, March 1: Stafettvasan, 90 km, start Sälen
Experience the joy and festive atmosphere of the world’s largest ski relay, where teams from clubs, businesses, families, and groups of friends share the classic stretch from Sälen to Mora. There are five sections, the ski style is classic, and the age limit is 11 years.

Friday, March 1: Nattvasan 30, 30 km, start Oxberg
It’s dark outside when the race starts in Oxberg at night, and all participants have headlamps. An adventure under the stars awaits; a journey illuminated by torches and fires on the way to Mora. Choose between classic and skate ski styles. The age limit is 11 years.

NEW AGE LIMIT! Friday, March 1: Nattvasan 45, 45 km, start Oxberg
In Nattvasan 45, you start in Oxberg and circle the Oxberg lake before continuing your journey to Mora. Stars, headlamps, and torches light up the trail, with spectators bringing fires and cheers. This year, the age limit has been lowered to 13 years, and both classic and skate styles are allowed.

Saturday, March 2: Vasaloppet 10, 9 km, start Eldris
Take the opportunity to ski in the Vasaloppet track and cross the classic finish line. The race starts in Eldris, 9 km from the Mora finish. It’s an easy course, without steep hills, and you can choose between skate and classic style. The age limit is 8 years.

NEW AGE LIMIT! Sunday, March 3: Vasaloppet, 90 km, start Sälen
Vasaloppet is the world’s biggest cross-country ski race – a test of endurance and a Swedish tradition that’s been in motion since 1922. This winter marks the 100th Vasaloppet, and the race has been fully booked for a long time. New for this year, the age limit has been lowered to 17 years. The event will be broadcast live in several countries.

Barnens Vasalopp on skis 2024
The children’s ski race Barnens Vasalopp takes place in Sälen on February 24 and in Mora on March 2. The recommended age is 3–10 years. It’s free to participate in the race, and all children receive a medal upon finishing. Register on location in Sälen or Mora.
