Cykelvasan is Vasaloppet on wheels. On Friday and Saturday, August 9–10, participants can choose between five different cycling races in the Vasaloppet Arena, at distances of 32, 45, or 96 kilometres. Additionally, it's the premiere of the Vasaloppet Bike Festival, which lasts the whole week in Lindvallen, Sälen, with over 30 fun activities for the whole family.
Yet another Winter Week has come to an end. Weather conditions caused occasional challenges for both participants and organizers, but with hard work and determination from both the skiers and the functionaries around them, over 50,000 participants crossed the finish line under the classic finish portal in Mora. The 100th Vasaloppet! The start is in Sälen on Sunday, March 3 at 08:00. Millions of TV viewers worldwide can follow the race, which was fully booked already in March 2023. Tjejvasan 2024 took place this Saturday with a 30 km long-distance race in classic technique from Oxberg to Mora, Sweden. After a fast race from the start and a morning full of action, the 30-kilometer-long Ski Classics Challengers event saw Kati Roivas, Team Eksjöhus, winning Tjejvasan with outstanding performance and a sprint finish. With the victory, Roivas becomes the first Finnish skier to win the traditional Swedish event.
The Tjejvasan start will take place on Saturday, February 24, at 09:00, setting off the world's largest ski race exclusively for women, covering 30 km from Oxberg to Mora. This year's race, the 36th Tjejvasan, has attracted 6,400 registered participants so far. Tjejvasan is now classified as a Challenger race within Ski Classics and it has a competition class for both seniors (D21) and juniors (D17–20). Starting from this year, you can participate in Tjejvasan's recreational class from the year you turn 11 (born in 2013). Sveriges Television will broadcast Tjejvasan live, and for those eager to ski thirty delightful kilometres, it's just a matter of signing up, which you can do until the day of the race. At 09:00 on Friday, February 23, the first participants will set off on the trail in Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2024. The first race is Vasaloppet 30, which is 30 km long, and it's followed by 12 other races with distances ranging from 9 to 90 kilometres before the 100th Vasaloppet in history takes place on "Vasaloppet Sunday," March 3. Currently, over 57,800 participants are registered – from 67 different nations.
