    Olle Meijer and Laila Kveli won Ultravasan 90 2024

    Olle Meijer from Hälle IF won Ultravasan 90 for the second year in a row. Norway's Laila Kveli, who has previously won Vasaloppet on skis twice, surprisingly won the women’s race, finishing ahead of pre-race favourite Dominika Stelmach from Poland. Jesper Lundberg and Malin Starfelt won Ultravasan 45, while Andrew Davies and Lovisa Modig triumphed in Trailvasan 30. Vasaloppet’s Summer Week 2024 attracted around 22,000 registered participants in total. Registration for all Vasaloppet races in 2025 is now open.

    Ahead of Ultravasan, Trailvasan, Funkisvasan and Vasastafetten 2024

    On Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17, over 6,100 runners are registered to participate in a running race in the Vasaloppet Arena, as Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2024 concludes with six different running events. Both elite athletes and recreational runners from 31 different nations and all 21 counties of Sweden are signed up to take part in the five individual races and the Vasastafetten relay. Many of the individual runners are also hoping to complete Vasaloppstrippeln, having previously skied and cycled the same distance earlier this year.     Jenny Rissveds and Simon Andreassen won Cykelvasan 90 2024

    There was an Olympic shine over Cykelvasan 90 2024. Double Olympic medallist Jenny Rissveds from Falu Cykelklubb won the women’s class convincingly, finishing over five minutes ahead of runner-up Lejla Njemcevic from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The men's class saw a Norwegian-Danish duel with Simon Andreassen, who also competed in the Paris Olympics, winning the sprint on Vasagatan in Mora ahead of Norway’s Emil Hasund Eid. This marked Denmark's first victory in Cykelvasan. A total of over 14,000 participants registered for the various Cykelvasan races this year, a cycling fest where the last participants are expected to finish in Mora this evening. Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2024 continues next weekend with running events in the Vasaloppet Arena.

    Ahead of Cykelvasan 90 2024

    From August 5–11, the Vasaloppet Bike Festival will take place in Sälen, culminating in Cykelvasan 90 2024 from Sälen to Mora on Saturday, August 10. Sweden’s national broadcaster, SVT, will live broadcast this prestigious event, which caters to both elite and recreational cyclists, on SVT1 and SVT Play from 07:20 to 11:30. The race will also be broadcast live in Denmark, Finland, and Norway. The elite women start at 07:30 and the elite men at 08:15.     American Champion to Ultravasan 2024

    The reigning American 100-mile champion, ultrarunner Rajpaul “Lightning Raj” Pannu, has confirmed his participation in Ultravasan 90, which takes place on Saturday, August 17. The interest in the Nordic region's largest ultramarathon is, as usual, very high, and the Swedish elite will surely face a challenge with Rajpaul Pannu's presence.     New Race in Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2024: Funkisvasan!

    Funkisvasan will become one of the regular races on the programme for Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2024. A test race for invited participants was conducted during the Summer Week 2023, and following a very positive reception, Funkisvasan is now open to more participants.
