Vasaloppet's theme is on Spotify and elsewhere
It's only 44 seconds long but many people associate it directly with the mood of the Vasaloppet Arena. As has been requested, the Vasaloppet theme is now available on Spotify and as a downloadable MP3 at Apple Music/iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Maybe something to add to the training playlist?
It was for the 75th Vasaloppet in 1999 that Soundbox in Uppsala got the assignment to develop a Vasaloppet anthem. The melody was meant to convey both achievement and experience; a timeless folk tune combined with modern sports; a simple, memorable melody with hints of pastoral farms and Olympic games, appealing to young and old alike. This mission was entrusted to composer Anders Wågberg and producer Johan Folke. Together they created the now widely known melody titled ”Vasaloppet hymn”.
